Protecta Infill Naked Walls with FR Board

Protecta® FR Board is an ideal solution for the rapid assembly of non-load-bearing partition wall systems, commonly referred to as Naked Walls. Designed to prevent the spread of fire and smoke by dividing spaces into separate fire compartments, it can be installed from one side only, in unlimited lengths up to 4 metres high, and can abut a wide range of construction types. The system requires fewer timber or steel studs and no nogs, delivering significant time and cost savings. Fully compliant with the New Zealand Building Code, it has been assessed to AS1530.4-2014 and AS4072.1-2005, including NZ and Australian rated timber stud grades.

Protecta® Infill Naked Walls are also suitable as stand-alone partitions in areas with restricted access, such as lofts, or as insulation within plasterboard or wood-based walls, improving fire ratings while reducing wall thickness. The board comprises a high-density stone wool core coated with Protecta® FR Coating, which reduces permeability, limits heat transfer, and blocks the passage of hot gases—enhancing both fire resistance and acoustic performance. The product is tested under BWR 3 for smoke protection up to 200Pa, and is paintable with most emulsion or alkyd (gloss) paints.
